The lifeless body of the worker crumpled to the ground, the taste of his blood lingering in her mouth.  She licked her lips and swallowed, relishing in the taste. Only moments later, as she stared at the dead body at her feet did she realise. Caroline wiped furiously at the bloody mess around her mouth as she choked out a sob.  What had she done?
She glanced down at the man; his cold, lifeless eyes stared back, a reminder of what she had become.  Whipping around, she shut her eyes tight, wishing this would go away.  It was just a dream.  A horrible, horrible dream.  She would wake up and she’ll be back to normal, she’ll be surrounded by her friends none of this would be real.
It’ll all just go away.
She pressed the heels of her palms into her eyes, a feeble attempt to restrain her tears.  Caught up in her own tormented thoughts and despite her improved senses, Caroline didn’t hear the footsteps approach.
“Caroline?” A voice called.  ”What have you done?”
She didn’t look up - she couldn’t.  She couldn’t bear to see the look in his eyes.  The sound of his cracking voice was enough.
He rushed over, to check the body, probably.  As he bent down to inspect the man, Caroline opened her eyes.  His hand went to the man’s neck to check for a pulse, but he snatched it back quickly.  There wasn’t much of a neck left, thanks to her.
Caroline didn’t look away as he met her gaze.  Her lip trembled as he backed away, looking horrified.  The way he was looking at her, like she was a monster.
She is a monster.
“I-I didn’t—” She couldn’t speak.  ”What’s happening to me?” she whispered.
He didn’t say a word.  His face hardened as he reached into his pocket.  Caroline sobbed and shut her eyes, knowing what he was doing.  This was his job.  And she was a monster.
“Are you going to kill me?”  She whimpered.
Dean raised his gun, his eyes glistening with tears he willed not to spill over.  ”If I have to.”
