After a mysterious incident the three friends had drifted apart. Five years pass by without any contact with one another when Candice and Holland receive phone calls telling them that Jennifer has recently passed away. Hypothermia from falling through the ice on the lake in the back of her home is the official cause of her death. However when they are bequeathed her journal, Holland and Candice begins to retrace the days that had led up to Jennifer’s accident and the story the journal tells suggests that Jennifer may have planned to commit suicide. Now the two remaining girls must come together again to find out why their friend had killed herself and reconcile their past.
